Jang Inhong Wins with 56.03% of the Vote, Widening the Gap with the Runner-Up
Attended Elementary, Middle, and High School in Guro... Also Served as Seoul Metropolitan Council Member
In the by-election for the Guro District Mayor held on the 2nd, Jang Inhong, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, was elected.
According to the Central Election Commission on the 3rd, Jang won 50,639 votes (56.03%), widening the gap with Lee Gangsan of the Liberty Unification Party, who came in second with 28,946 votes (32.03%).
Seo Sangbeom of the Innovation Party for National Reform received 6,660 votes (7.36%), and Choi Jaehee of the Progressive Party obtained 4,122 votes (4.56%).
Jang, the elected mayor, attended elementary, middle, and high school in Guro, including Guro High School, and graduated from Sogang University with a degree in Business Administration. He served as a Seoul Metropolitan Council member from 2014 to 2022 and was also the chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Education Committee.
The by-election for the Guro District Mayor was held after Moon Heonil, the former Guro District Mayor from the People Power Party, voluntarily resigned last October due to refusal to place his stocks in a blind trust.
