Kimcheon Chamber of Commerce Launches First Phase of 'Corporate Demand-Based Workforce Training Program' to Accelerate Logistics Expert Development The Gyeongbuk Kimcheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched the first training course of the "Logistics Expert Training Project" as part of the "Customized Workforce Development Project for Corporate Demand."

This initiative was established in response to the rapidly increasing demand for logistics personnel, as Gimcheon City strives to become a smart logistics hub by attracting major logistics companies such as Coupang and being designated as a Smart Green Logistics Regulation-Free Zone. The project has been ongoing since 2022.

This training course is open to all citizens interested in employment at logistics-related companies. It consists of a total of 20 days and 80 hours, including logistics theory education, company visits, special employment lectures, and forklift operation practice.

In particular, all trainees are supported in obtaining the 'Forklift Operator License,' which has attracted significant interest from the public.

There are also expectations for practical employment support, such as job placement at related companies including the Coupang logistics center, which is scheduled for completion this year.

This project, hosted by Gimcheon City and organized by the Gimcheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aims to resolve the labor shortage in the local industry and support job seekers in finding employment.

Baek Youngjin, Deputy Director of the Gimcheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "We will actively support resolving the ongoing recruitment difficulties of logistics companies in the Gimcheon area and help job seekers find quality jobs," adding, "Even in the face of internal and external challenges, we will do our utmost to ensure that businesses and the local economy continue to grow."
