The Culture and Tourism Specialized Market Development Project provides up to 1 billion KRW in funding over two years to support merchant-led projects that utilize local culture, tourism, and historical content to transform the market into a tourist destination.

Daehae Bulbit Market, selected for the first time this year, will focus on developing products and cultural content linked to nearby attractions such as the Pohang Canal and the POSCO nightscape, dedicating the next two years to establishing itself as a tourism and cultural market.

With Daehae Bulbit Market launching the Culture and Tourism Specialized Market Project this year, Pohang City has now continued these initiatives for nine consecutive years, following Hyoja Market (2017-2019), Keundonghae Market (2019-2020, 2021-2022), Guryongpo Market (2023-2024), and Ocheon Market (2024-2025).

The Digital Traditional Market (Advancement) Project comprehensively supports strengthening online presence, building physical and human infrastructure, and promotional marketing, providing up to 400 million KRW in funding over two years.

Guryongpo Market, which received the highest rating in last year's two-year Culture and Tourism Specialized Market Development Project evaluation, successfully completed the project. This year, by being selected for the Digital Traditional Market (Advancement) Project, the market has laid the foundation for expanding sales channels and is now equipped to enhance its competitiveness in response to changes in the distribution environment.

Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "We will enhance visitor satisfaction by utilizing culture and tourism content that highlights the unique characteristics of our region, and improve user convenience so that traditional market products can be easily purchased online. By revitalizing traditional markets, we aim to invigorate the local economy."
