Pianist Ahn Inmo Appointed as Artistic Director
Cellist Jo Yoonkyung to Open the First Stage on the 4th
PR consulting firm Prain Global presents the urban music concert series "Prain Villa Concert" at Prain Villa, a complex cultural space in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Prain Villa Concert is a performance series planned by Prain Global to offer audiences an experience that brings art closer to everyday life.
Starting on the 4th with a performance by cellist Jo Yoon-kyung, who is active on YouTube as Cello Daek, a total of five concerts will be held every other Friday evening until December.
Artistic director of the Prain Villa Concert, pianist Ahn In-mo, will lead the performances and provide commentary. Director Ahn will guide the stage with interesting and sophisticated explanations covering the structure and emotions of the music, the composer's life, and the historical context of the works. The Prain Villa Concert will feature both performers and commentators on stage to help audiences enjoy classical music in a friendly yet never superficial way. Director Ahn also introduces classical music easily and entertainingly through his personal YouTube channel.
Prain Villa is a complex cultural space where artistic sensibility and experimentation coexist, providing an environment where musicians and audiences can connect more closely in a private atmosphere with limited seating, rather than a large concert hall.
The Prain Villa Concert pursues diverse music and stories that transcend genre boundaries. The first stage’s protagonist, cellist Jo Yoon-kyung, will perform not only classical pieces such as Erik Satie’s "Gymnop?dies" and Brahms’ "Hungarian Dance No. 5," but also Astor Piazzolla’s "Libertango" and Kim Kwang-seok’s "With a Heart That Must Forget." Pianist Jo Young-hoon will accompany her.
Each Prain Villa Concert features a different instrument at its center. Following Jo Yoon-kyung, percussionist Gong Seong-yeon (June 13), clarinetist Kim Woo-yeon (August 15), trumpeter Sung Jae-chang (October 24), and baritone Lee Eung-kwang (December 24) will take the stage in subsequent performances.
