Applications open until April 17... Support for small-scale manufacturers with fewer than 10 employees among the five major urban manufacturing industries in Gwanak-gu
Up to 9 million KRW per company... 4 million KRW increase from last year, only 10% of work environment improvement costs covered by companies
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting participating companies for the ‘2025 Urban Manufacturing Work Environment Improvement Support Project’ to help small urban manufacturers work in a pleasant environment.
The district supports work environment improvements for five major urban manufacturing industries that are constantly exposed to harmful conditions such as dust and poor ventilation due to the nature of their work: ▲ garment sewing ▲ machinery and metal ▲ printing ▲ jewelry ▲ handmade shoes.
Eligible applicants are urban manufacturing companies registered in Gwanak-gu with fewer than 10 regular employees.
The support amount is up to 9 million KRW per company, which is an increase of 4 million KRW compared to last year. Companies selected for the support project only need to cover 10% of the work environment improvement costs themselves.
The district plans to prioritize support for accident prevention facilities such as ▲ fire extinguishers ▲ fire detectors ▲ circuit breakers ▲ wiring boxes for selected companies. Additionally, items to improve air quality such as ▲ ducts ▲ suction devices ▲ air purifiers, work environment improvements such as ▲ heating and cooling systems, and items to enhance work efficiency such as ▲ vacuum dies ▲ workbenches ▲ polishing machines will also be supported.
Companies wishing to participate should prepare the application documents and submit them by visiting the Gwanak-gu Office Regional Commercial Revitalization Division or by email to the person in charge by 6 p.m. on April 17.
Supported companies will be finally selected in June after on-site inspections and deliberations by the Seoul City subsidy review committee. The selection scale is a total of 600 companies from the five major urban manufacturing industries across 25 autonomous districts.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “We hope many new companies that have not yet received support will participate, and that small-scale manufacturing workers can work in a safe and pleasant environment,” adding, “We will continue to promote various support policies to strengthen the self-sustainability and competitiveness of small urban manufacturers.”
