B Responds to A's Online Post
Methamphetamine and Syringes Found at the Scene
Concerns Over Repeat Offenses... Investigation Into Distribution Routes
The Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced on the 2nd that it had requested arrest warrants for a man and a woman in their 20s, identified as A and B, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act after they met through social networking services (SNS) and used methamphetamine together.
The two are suspected of injecting 0.5g of methamphetamine at a motel in Jungheung-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, around 11 a.m. on the 31st of last month. Police responded to a report of suspected drug use and made an emergency arrest at the scene. Syringes and traces of methamphetamine dissolved in water were found at the location.
According to the police investigation, A posted drug-related content on SNS with the intention of "doing it together," and after B saw the post, they contacted each other and committed the crime. A preliminary reagent test showed both tested positive for drugs, and B was found to have a prior drug-related conviction.
The police have requested arrest warrants citing concerns about repeat offenses and plan to expand the investigation into the source of the drugs and any additional crimes.
