"We Will Enhance the Brand Value of Our Cultural City Through Festivals"
The representative festival of Anseong City, Gyeonggi Province, 'Anseong Matchum Baudeogi Namsadang Festival' will be held from October 9 to 12.
Anseong City announced the schedule of major festivals to be held in the region this year, including the Baudeogi Namsadang Festival, on the 2nd. The city explained, "Based on its identity as a cultural city, we have prepared various themed local festivals to realize a 'Four Seasons Cultural Festival City.'"
First, this month, the 'Cherry Blossom Busking' held at the famous cherry blossom spot Geumseokcheon, along with ▲Anseong Culture Market Festa: Popcorn Live ▲Shinhwalryeok Hwalhwal Festival will be held simultaneously along the Anseong Stream.
In May, centered around Anseong Matchum Land, ▲Visiting Anseong Culture Market ▲Children's Day events ▲Sannaedeul Pureun Anseong Environmental Festival will take place. During this period, local festivals such as ▲Gongdo Cultural Festival (Gongdo-eup) ▲Geumgwang Lake Moonlight Festival (Geumgwang-myeon) will also be held. Following that, in June, ▲Anseong Culture Market Festa ▲Youth Craft Festa are scheduled.
In autumn, local festivals are planned including the Anseong Matchum Grape Festival, a specialty product event, as well as ▲Guksabong Cultural Festival (Samjuk-myeon) ▲Iljuk Cheongmi Music Concert (Iljuk-myeon) ▲Jukju Daego Goryeo Cultural Festival (Jukju-myeon) ▲Nakwon History Park Cultural Festival (Anseong 1-dong).
Especially from October 9 to 12, the city’s representative festival, the Namsadang Baudeogi Festival, will be held around Anseong Matchum Land and the Anseong Stream area. During the festival, the 'National Tour @ Anseong Culture Market Festa,' which modernly recreates 'Anseongjang,' one of the three major markets of the Joseon Dynasty, and the 'East Asian Traditional Performance Festival' will also be held together.
In November, ▲East Asia Handmade Festival ▲Glocal Cultural Exchange Market, and in December, ▲Anseong Dongmakgol Icefish Festival are scheduled to be held respectively.
Anseong City plans to strengthen tourism content utilizing the region’s unique resources and expand opportunities for citizens to enjoy culture in their daily lives through these festival events.
A city official said, "Through this year’s festivals, we will widely promote Anseong’s cultural capabilities and enhance the city’s brand value."
