On the 2nd, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a friendship exchange event between the Changwon City Women's Association Council and the Goheung County Women's Association Council at the City Hall Citizen Hall.
Since forming a sisterhood relationship in 1999, the women's associations of Changwon and Goheung have maintained continuous exchanges for 26 years, strengthening the friendship between Yeongnam and Honam regions. This event further reinforced harmony and cooperation between the two regions and provided an opportunity to share local culture and specialty products.
Approximately 70 members and officials from both councils attended the event. At the welcoming ceremony held at Changwon City Hall, Mayor Hong Nam-pyo of Changwon Special City delivered a welcoming address, expressing his warm hospitality.
Afterwards, the participants visited the venue of the Jinhae Gunhangje, Korea's representative spring festival, participated in experiential events at Jungwon Rotary, and walked together along the Yeojwacheon Cherry Blossom Road, enjoying the beautiful spring atmosphere of Changwon.
Park Youngrang, president of the Changwon City Women's Association Council, said, "Based on our long-standing relationship with the Goheung County Women's Association Council, I hope that cooperation between our regions will become even stronger, and that this meeting will be remembered as a meaningful memory of sharing the spring of Changwon together."
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Building on the precious friendship that Changwon and Goheung have maintained for 26 years, we will continue to promote active exchanges and cooperation so that the cultures and specialty products of both regions can become widely known."
Changwon and Goheung plan to continue pursuing harmony between east and west and regional development through mutual visits and various exchange activities in the future.
