This year, the event carries added significance as it aims to comfort and encourage small business owners who are experiencing difficulties due to the prolonged economic downturn.
On the first day, April 5th, the stage will feature Kim Kitae, winner of JTBC's Singer Again 2, and Korea's only electronic orchestra, Clatric Symphony Orchestra. On the 6th, performances will continue with Yoo Haeun, a contestant from TV Chosun's University Song Festival, and Jin Iryang, the region’s leading trot diva.
In addition, on stages set up in Gwangcheon-dong, Yudeok-dong, and Dongcheon-dong, various programs such as busking, magic shows, Nanta performances, and acoustic guitar sessions will be held. There will also be activities like electric train rides, a stamp tour, free rentals of shared bicycles and picnic mats. In Dongcheon-dong, a singing contest will be held to commemorate the designation of the alley-type shopping district.
This healing music concert will also operate picnic and delivery zones. Kind shops and local restaurants that offer delivery will participate, and the Gwangju Public Delivery App will be used to provide healing and enjoyment for citizens while aiming to boost sales for small business owners.
Additionally, a "Kind Step Walking" campaign will be held for sharing and donation. On the 6th, if the total number of steps taken by participants walking along Gwangjucheon reaches one million, Seogu District will donate one million won to the Seogu Regional Child Center Association.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seogu District, said, "I send my heartfelt encouragement, comfort, and support to small business owners and citizens who are enduring these tough times together," adding, "I hope this will be a time to dream of hope once again and fully enjoy the energy of the new spring at Gwangjucheon, where cherry blossoms are in full bloom."
