Koscom Wins 'Next-Generation IT Infrastructure Construction Project' from Korea Credit Information Services

KOSCOM is assisting the Korea Credit Information Services (KCIS), the only comprehensive credit information concentration agency in Korea, in system innovation.

KOSCOM announced on the 2nd that it has won the contract for the "KCIS Next-Generation IT System Infrastructure Construction Project" and has begun a full-scale overhaul of the credit information system.

The core of this project is to transform KCIS's IT system into a flexible, cloud-centered structure. This is intended to effectively respond to the rapidly changing financial environment and increasingly complex data distribution flows. The project started last month and is expected to continue for about 15 months.

The entire project is divided into two areas: business development and infrastructure construction, with KOSCOM solely responsible for infrastructure construction. This is an extension of the first phase project, which was successfully completed over 10 months from 2023 to 2024. Based on the technical design carried out by KOSCOM at that time, the project is now moving into the full-scale system transition phase.

KOSCOM plans to upgrade KCIS's next-generation system into one that combines security, stability, and scalability through this project. Specifically, KOSCOM will build a hybrid infrastructure linking private and public clouds and establish a robust information protection and disaster recovery system. Additionally, an integrated operation infrastructure management system will be constructed to significantly enhance stability and scalability compared to the existing system.

Beyond simple infrastructure construction, foundational work will also be promoted to effectively support future business development. A framework that developers can conveniently use will be provided, and application architecture will be designed. Standardization of data and quality management systems will also be established to increase collaboration synergy with companies responsible for business development.

KOSCOM plans to actively utilize its accumulated expertise over the past decade in ▲intelligent cloud platforms ▲data distribution hubs ▲cloud-native technologies for this project. Through this, KCIS is expected to secure an advanced digital infrastructure foundation.

Yoon Chang-hyun, CEO of KOSCOM, said, "I am very honored to work together again following the first phase construction project carried out in 2023," adding, "This project is expected to be a key turning point enabling KCIS to proactively respond to the future financial environment." He continued, "Based on accumulated experience and technological capabilities, KOSCOM will do its best as a trusted partner in KCIS's digital transformation journey."
