After signing a strategic partnership and platform license agreement with Chery Automobile in October last year, KGM decided to jointly develop mid-to-large SUVs as a practical cooperation measure. They also agreed to strengthen collaboration in various fields such as autonomous driving and electric/electronic architecture based on cutting-edge software-defined vehicles (SDV).
KGM has designated the project name 'SE-10' as the successor to the Rexton and plans to complete vehicle development by 2026. The launch schedule will be finalized considering market conditions. Through the strategic partnership, KGM plans to expand not only internal combustion engines but also eco-friendly lineups, introducing various derivative models to target niche markets.
Chairman Kwak Jae-sun stated, "Through strategic cooperation utilizing KGM's over 70 years of technical know-how and Chery Automobile's global platform, we will grow and develop into a sustainable company for the future."
