Gwangju Science Center Holds Smoking Cessation Education with Nodam Band

Special Interactive Exhibition Runs Until June

The National Gwangju Science Museum has prepared a smoking cessation experience exhibition for young children. The aim is to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking and help children develop healthy lifestyle habits.

According to the Gwangju Science Museum on the 2nd, the museum is holding a special exhibition titled "The Adventure of Nodam Band on Strong Island" in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Korea Health Promotion Institute, and the Korea Productivity Center. The exhibition runs at the Children's Science Museum until June 8. The recommended age is from 3 to 5 years old, and visitors can view the exhibition for free with only an admission ticket, without any additional ticketing required.

The exhibition consists of 10 play-based experiential exhibits, including "Let's Create a Clean Environment," "When You Encounter Cigarette Smoke," and "Making Your Own No Smoking Sign." Visitors naturally learn about the dangers of smoking and the meaning of quitting smoking by following the journey of the main character in a fairy tale.

Kim Jeongwon, a researcher at the Exhibition Planning Office, said, "Smoking cessation education in early childhood goes beyond simply delivering information and leads to the formation of healthy habits. I hope this exhibition will help children recognize the harm on their own and put it into practice in their daily lives."
