Recruitment of Outstanding Talents from Specialized High Schools, Meister High Schools, and Junior Colleges

The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 2nd that it will introduce the 'Military Civilian Employee Regional Talent Recruitment System' starting this year to contribute to balanced development between the nation and local regions and to hire outstanding talents, and will conduct the Military Civilian Employee Regional Talent Grade 9 Selection Examination.

The Military Civilian Employee Regional Talent Grade 9 Selection Examination is designed to recruit outstanding talents from specialized high schools, Meister high schools, and junior colleges. This system is being implemented for the first time this year and targets those who are expected to graduate or have graduated within the last two years. Candidates who meet the academic performance criteria specified in the announcement can apply for the Military Civilian Employee Regional Talent Grade 9 Selection Examination without any limit on the number of applicants per school.


The total number of recruits for the 2025 Military Civilian Employee Regional Talent Grade 9 Selection Examination is 200. The Ministry of National Defense and each military branch will announce the ‘2025 Military Civilian Employee Regional Talent Grade 9 Selection Examination Implementation Plan’ on April 3rd through their official websites.


Applications will be accepted through the Ministry of National Defense and each military branch’s official websites starting from the 25th, followed by a written exam (July 5th), document screening (October), and interview (November), with the final successful candidates announced in December.


The final successful candidates will undergo a six-month probationary period at each military branch or Ministry of National Defense direct units (agencies) starting next year and will be appointed as Grade 9 military civilian employees. After appointment, they will be required to work in the selected recruitment region for five years.


The Ministry of National Defense stated, "By recruiting talented individuals with excellent qualifications from specialized high schools and Meister high schools as military civilian employees, we aim to strengthen organizational competitiveness and expect this to contribute to youth job creation through diversification of public service recruitment channels."
