Plaque Ceremony Held on March 28... Official Operations Begin with Environmental Maintenance and Safety Patrols
On February 20, Manager Assists Elderly Resident in Their 80s by Connecting with Emergency Services
The Dobong-type housing management office, ‘Uri Dongnae Gwanriso’ (Our Neighborhood Management Office), held a plaque ceremony on March 28 and officially began its operations.
About 30 people, including Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, city and district council members, and local residents, attended the ceremony to celebrate the launch of ‘Uri Dongnae Gwanriso’ together.
Earlier, the district established the first ‘Uri Dongnae Gwanriso’ on the 3rd floor of 118 Dobong-ro and conducted a pilot operation for about a month starting in February.
‘Uri Dongnae Gwanriso’ is a facility prepared by the district to provide lifestyle-oriented services to residents in densely populated low-rise residential areas. It is operated directly by the district and offers services such as environmental maintenance, safety patrols, and parking guidance.
The management area of the first ‘Uri Dongnae Gwanriso’ covers the multi-family housing dense area around Banghak 1-dong. The staff consists of one office worker and four managers.
The office worker stays at the office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to receive complaints, while the four managers are divided into two groups of two each for morning and afternoon shifts to handle on-site complaint tasks.
On the afternoon of February 20, there was a miraculous case where a manager saved an elderly person in their 80s while patrolling the area. Manager Park Chan-wook immediately rushed to the location after hearing the urgent voice of a nearby elderly person during patrol, checked the condition, and connected with 119 emergency services. At that time, the elderly person was in a severely weakened state. Until the 119 paramedics arrived, the manager stayed at the scene to protect them. It was confirmed that the elderly person received treatment and returned home.
Manager Park said, “I am really glad that I heard the elderly person’s voice and rushed immediately. At that moment, I felt that someone needed help and did my best to respond,” adding, “I will continue to patrol carefully for the safety of residents and respond promptly when necessary.”
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “I deeply thank Manager Park Chan-wook for providing great help to the elderly,” and added, “We will further activate ‘Uri Dongnae Gwanriso,’ which works for local safety and maintenance, and provide various services that residents need.”
