Chinese Embassy Urges Caution for Chinese Nationals and Tourists in Korea
Amid President Yoon's Impeachment Trial Ruling, Large-Scale Rallies and Closures Expected
"The Constitutional Court of Korea is scheduled to deliver a ruling on President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment trial on the 4th. Large-scale rallies and protests may take place across various regions on that day and the following period, and the possibility of extreme incidents cannot be ruled out."
The Chinese Embassy in Korea, in relation to the Constitutional Court's ruling on President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment trial on the 4th, urged Chinese nationals residing in Korea on the 1st to exercise special caution, keeping in mind the potential for extreme situations.

In a notice posted on the embassy's social media service (SNS) that day, the embassy advised Chinese nationals residing in Korea to "pay close attention to the local political situation and security conditions, and heighten awareness to prevent risks," and requested, "Please keep your distance from political gatherings occurring locally, and refrain from participating, staying, or watching."
The Chinese Embassy also classified the Constitutional Court, Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, and Hannam-dong as "sensitive locations," advising to "avoid approaching places where many people gather, carefully follow police announcements and traffic control instructions, and plan travel schedules accordingly."
Meanwhile, in connection with the presidential impeachment trial ruling, large-scale rallies are expected nearby, and several palace tours close to the Constitutional Court will be suspended. The Cultural Heritage Administration’s Palace and Royal Tombs Headquarters announced on its official website on the 4th that "on the day of the impeachment trial ruling, tours of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, and Deoksugung Palace will be suspended."
Major museums around Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Gwanghwamun area will also be closed on the 4th. The National Palace Museum of Korea, located west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, will be closed for the day, and the Museum of Korean History in Gwanghwamun will also be closed for one day.
