Ministry of the Interior and Safety and North Gyeongsang Province Operate 'Central Joint Support Center' at Andong Gymnasium... 43 Agencies Assist in Wildfire Recovery and Victim Support

Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 1st that, together with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, it is operating a 'Central Joint Support Center' at Andong Gymnasium to manage wildfire recovery, support victims, and help displaced residents return to their daily lives.


The Central Joint Support Center is comprised of 43 organizations, including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, financial institutions, and local governments. It covers the areas affected by the recent wildfire: Andong City, Uiseong County, Cheongsong County, Yeongyang County, and Yeongdeok County, and will remain in operation until recovery efforts are complete.


The center provides comprehensive support across various fields, including relief for displaced residents, restoration of facilities and housing, consultation on agricultural damage, and guidance on loans and insurance. Residents can receive assistance by visiting the center or by phone.

The center also offers medical support, such as providing pharmaceuticals and dispatching medical teams to protect the health of elderly displaced residents, as well as consultations for power outages and restoration of water supply facilities. In addition, the center actively assists with reporting agricultural damage caused by the wildfire.


Furthermore, Gyeongbuk Province has organized and dispatched a separate 'One-Stop Administrative Support Team' to provide tailored assistance, including debris removal from wildfire damage and consultations on temporary housing facilities.


Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, "We will make wildfire recovery and support for displaced residents our top priority, and do our utmost to ensure that affected residents receive support quickly and conveniently."
