Flight Data Analyzed, Processed, and Shared
Jin Air announced on the 1st that it has introduced a new flight data analysis program to enhance aviation safety and operational efficiency.
This program is the Event Measurement System (EMS) from GE Aerospace, which effectively analyzes and processes data generated during flights and shares it with relevant departments.
Jin Air explained that the data analysis process has been improved, increasing reliability and accuracy, and that strengthened data transmission functions have made interdepartmental collaboration easier. Through this, it is expected to establish a safer and more efficient operational environment by early detection of abnormal signs that may occur during flights and reducing fuel consumption. With the launch of the integrated low-cost carrier (LCC), it is also expected to enable flexible work handling according to the organizational scale.
Jin Air emphasized that it prioritizes safe operations and is making various efforts. First, in June last year, it introduced the International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s Turbulence Aware platform (ITA) to enhance responsiveness to unexpected weather conditions. Additionally, since the 1st of last month, it has been informing customers about the strengthened in-flight safety management policy for auxiliary batteries and electronic cigarettes through counters, in-flight announcements, the website, and the application.
Safety capabilities are also being strengthened through recruitment, education, and training of personnel in operations, maintenance, and cabin services. Jin Air plans to hire about 60 maintenance personnel this year and is also conducting recruitment for new cabin crew and flight crew with military experience.
A Jin Air official said, "Based on the enhanced data analysis capabilities, we will establish a predictive safety operation system."
