The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea expressed this in a statement issued under the name of Chairman Bishop Lee Yong-hoon, saying, "We must have faith that the Constitutional Court will deliver a fair judgment based on legal principles."

They continued, "Distrust in the Constitutional Court and its justices is essentially distrust in our society and an act that endangers the existence of the nation," emphasizing, "In a state governed by the rule of law, refusing to abide by legal judgments is unacceptable."

They added, "We must have a mindset to accept whatever decision comes out. That is the way to protect democracy in our society," and stated, "The Catholic Church of Korea sincerely hopes and prays that all citizens will respect and follow that decision so that our country can take one more step forward as a more mature democracy."
