KORAIL Gwangju Headquarters (headed by Kim Youngjin) announced on the 1st that, in celebration of the 21st anniversary of the KTX launch, it had implemented various programs to express gratitude to customers and promote local tourism development.


Since its opening in 2004, KTX has ushered in a new era for Korea's high-speed railways and has greatly contributed to improving regional transportation convenience and local economic growth.


The event, held at Gwangju Songjeong Station?the gateway to Gwangju City?was titled "21st Anniversary of KTX Launch: Customer Appreciation and Souvenir Giveaway," expressing gratitude to customers who have used the railway over the years. Following this, a customer participation event called "Railway Journey with Calligraphy" was held, where participants could capture moments from their travels in beautiful handwriting together with Yang Junghui, CEO of Peanut Tree Calligraphy.


Additionally, in cooperation with Jangseong-gun, Hampyeong-gun, Shinan-gun, and Wando-gun, the headquarters promoted the core message of "Revitalizing Local Tourism with KTX" through various promotional activities. These included regional customized tourism packages linked with KTX, information on local festivals, and highlights of local attractions, food, and entertainment.


Kim Youngjin, head of KORAIL Gwangju Headquarters, stated, "On the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the KTX launch, we will do our best to ensure that the railway continues to grow together with our customers and the local community."
