Chungnam Province Cracks Down on Illegal Activities at Livestock Product Handling Establishments Chungnam Provincial Government Building.

Chungnam Province announced on the 1st that it will conduct inspections on the hygiene management and illegal activities of livestock product handling establishments in the province from the 7th of this month to the 9th of next month.


The targets of the inspection are livestock product handling establishments such as meat packaging and processing businesses, meat sales businesses, and on-site meat processing and sales businesses, as well as suppliers for elementary, middle, and high school meals.


The inspection items include: ▲ unreported business operations ▲ false labeling of origin ▲ non-compliance with storage standards ▲ use of unlabeled or expired products ▲ compliance with livestock product storage and distribution standards.


The province also plans to cooperate with the Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Institute and others to conduct genetic testing to verify compliance with the livestock product traceability system and to check for false sales of origin.


Jung Nakdo, Director of Safety Planning, said, "Through these inspections, we will preemptively block factors that threaten the health of residents," and added, "We will do our best to ensure the safety management of livestock products."
