The People Power Party stated on the 4th, regarding the Constitutional Court's designation of the ruling date for the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol, "We expect a decision based on common sense, justice, and the spirit of the Constitution."
Shin Dong-wook, the senior spokesperson for the People Power Party, said on the day of the Constitutional Court's ruling date designation, "This impeachment trial is a historic turning point confirming the constitutional order and the foundation of the rule of law established on the basis of liberal democracy," adding, "It is now time for justice to respond in the name of the Constitution against attempts to shake national stability and to dominate the Constitution for political purposes."
He continued, "The Constitutional Court must answer before history and the people so that law and common sense do not collapse, and so that the hope earnestly desired by the people is not betrayed," and stated, "Now, both the ruling and opposition parties should calmly wait for the Constitutional Court's time, and regardless of the decision, must accept the Constitutional Court's ruling for the future of the Republic of Korea."
Spokesperson Shin said, "We hope that this decision, which will determine the fate of the Republic of Korea, will be made in the name of 'true justice and the rule of law,'" and "We expect the Constitutional Court to make a decision based on common sense, justice, and the spirit of the Constitution."
