Park Chan-dae Urges Constitutional Court for Swift Ruling on Yoon

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Han Deok-su, the Acting President and Prime Minister, saying, "He is delaying the appointment of Ma Eun-hyuk, a nominee for the Constitutional Court Justice, which must be done immediately, while attempting to exercise a veto on the amendment to the Commercial Act, which should not be done."

At the floor strategy meeting held on the 1st at the tent headquarters in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, Floor Leader Park said, "Acting President Han should do what must be done and refrain from what should not be done."

He added, "The prime minister, who is going against the wishes of the people like a contrarian frog, is ruining the country," and said, "It has been 34 days since the Constitutional Court unanimously ruled that the non-appointment of nominee Ma is unconstitutional, and it has already been 9 days since Acting President Han returned, but he has not appointed nominee Ma."

Floor Leader Park said, "Whether it is with the intention to completely destroy the constitutional order of the Republic of Korea, or hoping for further economic decline, or because he is an accomplice in rebellion," and urged once again, "Unless he is prepared to be recorded as the worst prime minister in history, he should do what must be done and refrain from what should not be done."

He also urged the Constitutional Court to make a swift decision on President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial. Floor Leader Park said, "It has been 36 days since the final arguments in the impeachment trial," and warned, "If the Constitutional Court refuses the people's trust to punish the destroyer of the constitution, the value of the Constitutional Court will also disappear."
