Improving Vulnerable Areas of Corruption
Full-Scale Participation by All Departments Begins
Gangjin County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jinwon) held a meeting to share integrity initiatives on the 31st of last month in the county office's main conference room, aiming to achieve the highest grade (Grade 1) in the 2025 Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation, and has officially begun to implement anti-corruption and integrity policies.
According to the county on the 1st, this meeting was organized as a proactive response to achieve Grade 1 in 2025, rather than being complacent with the Grade 2 received in the 2024 Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

In particular, although the external integrity score was higher than the average of similar basic local governments, the internal integrity score was pointed out as being low, highlighting the need to devise measures to improve the perceived integrity within the organization.
The meeting began with an overall report by the Director of Planning and Public Relations, followed by discussions on practical measures to improve internal awareness and spread a culture of integrity. The governor once again emphasized his commitment to future directions under his leadership.
Starting with this meeting, the county plans to implement a variety of integrity policies, including: ▲ discovering and promoting department-specific integrity initiatives ▲ holding integrity countermeasure meetings chaired by the head of the institution ▲ evaluating outstanding departments and providing incentives. In particular, by promoting the 'One Department, One Integrity Initiative,' all departments will voluntarily participate in realizing an administration of integrity.
Governor Kang Jinwon stated, "Integrity is the starting point for trust in administration," and added, "All public officials will take the lead in practicing integrity to make Gangjin a city trusted by its citizens."
