Lee Jun-seok: "Yoon did not mention Han Dong-hoon by name... Someone he tried to support but failed"

Lee Jun-seok in Conversation with Conservative Commentator Jeong Gyu-jae
"Han Dong-hoon Must Acknowledge His Own Position"
"Lee Jae-myung Focused Only on Self-Protection, No Legislative Achievements for the People"

Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, claimed that President Yoon Seok-yeol refers to former People Power Party representative Han Dong-hoon as "that XX." On the 30th of last month, Lee uploaded a dialogue video with conservative commentator Jeong Gyu-jae, former chief editor of the Korea Economic Daily, on his YouTube channel.

In the video, Lee said, "I will tell you the terms President Yoon uses to refer to people (to foreign diplomats in Korea asking about the power hierarchy of the Yoon administration)," and named "Senior Kim Ki-hyun, brother Kwon Young-se, Representative Kwon Seong-dong, Representative Jang Je-won, and Won Hee-ryong." He then asked, "What about Han Dong-hoon?" and when the host replied, "Dong-hoon?" he answered, "That XX."

Lee stated, "It is true that former representative Han has been given many opportunities now," and added, "What kind of politician starts their political career as Minister of Justice and Emergency Committee Chairman?" He continued, "If he does not acknowledge his own position, I think it will just be a situation where he ends up as 'someone who was tried to be nurtured but failed, even breaking ties with the person who raised him.'"

Regarding Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, Lee criticized, "Even holding the big sword of party leader, there were no legislative achievements for the people's livelihood. It was solely about 'self-protection' and purging political rivals," and questioned, "If he can only do that much with the sword of party leader, what will he do when he receives the sword of the presidency, other than using it for himself?" He also said, "Have we ever seen him push through legislation for the people's livelihood with nearly 180 seats? No. It is hard to say he came up with creative ideas for the people's livelihood; he tried to solve the long-standing demands of groups like the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions."

After the dialogue, former chief editor Jeong posted on his social media, "Let's give Lee Jun-seok a chance at the presidency." He said, "If it is possible to promote a completely new political force in this presidential election, regardless of conservative or progressive, right or left, it might allow for a brief period of peace," and added, "I believe Lee Jun-seok will accomplish that."

Jeong also stated, "If both the People Power Party and the (Democratic Party) 386 generation exit, I believe a new political horizon unknown to us will open," and added, "The way to shed the weight of history is nothing but a complete generational replacement."
