The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 1st that since the 25th of last month, three mobile patrol teams have been deployed daily to schools near the Constitutional Court, strengthening safety activities on students' commuting routes together with the school police officers from Jongno Police Station.

According to the police, complaints from parents have increased due to loud shouting and verbal abuse by radical protesters near the Constitutional Court ahead of the verdict on the 4th, the impeachment trial date of President Yoon Seok-yeol. There have also been cases where some participants in the rallies or solo protesters have trespassed into schools without permission, threatening the safety of students.

Accordingly, the police have assigned personnel during the arrival and dismissal times at four nearby schools: Jaedong Elementary School, Unhyeon Elementary School, Gyodong Elementary School, and Gyeongun School. They are also conducting inspections and searches for individuals carrying dangerous items and preemptively removing tools or facilities that could be used as weapons.

A police official stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that students can commute safely by intensively patrolling the nearby schools until the verdict day."
