The Return of Hwangsa Season... Ggitturami Strengthens Efforts in Air Purification Business

Targeting the Market with Air Purification Systems
That Capture Bacteria and Viruses During Ventilation

As spring arrives, interest is focusing on air purification systems that can simultaneously purify the air and ventilate indoor spaces due to the increasing yellow dust and fine dust. Boiler company Gidulami is also strengthening its air purification business by preparing new products.

On the 1st, Gidulami announced that it is preparing a new lineup for this year of the 'Ventilation Plus Air Purification System.' Gidulami first launched this product in 2020. The market targeted by Gidulami includes multi-family housing complexes with 30 or more households and mixed-use buildings where ventilation system installation is mandatory. Last year, they accelerated market penetration by releasing the 'Ventilation Plus Plasma Air Purification System,' which blocks bacteria and germs. It is evaluated that the focus was not only on the existing business-to-business (B2B) market but also on enabling households that managed indoor air with air purifiers to create a comfortable space free of fine dust, bacteria, and viruses through this product.

Gidulami has particularly devoted efforts to developing technology that more effectively reduces indoor air pollutants. A representative example is the application of the 'Plasma Ionizer,' a device that generates negative and positive ions, to the air purification system. This technology combines airborne pollutants into clusters that can be filtered. In particular, it removes bacteria and viruses in the air in an inactivated state and effectively neutralizes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that cause sick house syndrome and odor gases. When the plasma ionizer operates, the ozone concentration generated is up to 0.003 ppm, which is significantly lower than the Ministry of Environment's indoor standard (0.06 ppm or less), ensuring safety.

Gidulami's air purification technology can also be seen at ‘Gidulami Clean Tennis 13’ in Gocheok-dong, Seoul, which opened last year. Gidulami newly established eight indoor courts with a duplex structure, and combined with the existing three indoor courts and two outdoor courts, operates a total of 13 courts. This facility is equipped with a floor ventilation system. Through this, dust scattered from tennis balls and indoor fine dust are discharged through suction ports installed under the net and on the wall floor, and the ventilation system installed at the top of the tennis court continuously supplies fresh air from outside, maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.

An industry official said, "Inquiries about air purification systems are increasing due to concerns about various infectious diseases caused by fine dust, bacteria, and viruses that come regardless of the season."
