Shinan County in Jeonnam received the Grand Prize in the Island Tourism category for "Pilgrim's Island" at the 21st Korea Luxury Brand Awards held at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul on the 27th.

According to the county on the 31st, the "Korea Luxury Brand Awards" is a prestigious award hosted by The Korea Economic Daily and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Winners are selected through expert evaluations.

"Pilgrim's Island" is the only pilgrimage tourism destination in Korea created by Shinan County, offering a unique charm where nature and art are harmoniously blended. Beyond simply serving as a tourist attraction, it has become a space where visitors can reflect on themselves and find healing within nature.

In particular, the island features "12 architectural art installations" created by world-renowned architects and artists, each uniquely harmonizing with the surrounding natural environment.

These installations are arranged along the pilgrimage trail, allowing visitors to find peace of mind and experience a special atmosphere created by the fusion of nature and art as they walk the path.

Meanwhile, to enhance visitor convenience and improve accommodation facilities, the guesthouse operator Quringstory on Pilgrim's Island is pursuing remodeling and the establishment of smart tourism infrastructure. Through these efforts, they plan to create a more pleasant environment and ensure that tourists can enjoy their trips comfortably.

Choi Hanung, head of the department, stated, "We will continue to strive for Pilgrim's Island to further develop as the representative tourist destination of Shinan County," adding, "We will continue to introduce various programs so that everyone who visits can experience deep peace and new experiences through the harmony of nature and art."
