A Large-Scale Complex with 39 Above-Ground Floors and 1,990 Households to Be Built
The consortium of Lotte Construction and Hyundai Construction (Premier Project Group) announced on the 31st that it has secured the construction rights for the reconstruction of Suwon Guun 1 District in Gyeonggi Province. This is a large-scale project with a total construction cost of 665 billion KRW.
The Premier Project Group was selected as the construction company for the Suwon Guun 1 District Housing Reconstruction Maintenance Project on the 29th. The project site is the Samhwan Apartments in Guun-dong, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon City, consisting of 15 apartment buildings ranging from 4 basement floors to 39 above-ground floors, with a total of 1,990 households and auxiliary facilities.
The project group proposed a major redesign, reducing the existing 21 buildings to 15 and increasing the maximum height to 39 floors. An 8,000-pyeong (approximately 26,446 square meters) large park will be created in the secured space. The park will feature three sightline corridors passing through the complex and four walking trails totaling 2.4 km in length.

Specialized views also stand out. A 36th-floor sky lounge will be constructed with panoramic views of Ilwol Reservoir and Yeogisan Park, and a large underground deck floor utilizing the complex's level differences will house four themed large community facilities. The exterior will also feature high-end specialized designs such as curtain wall look, landscape lighting, and rooftop structures.
The location is another strength. Within a 2 km radius are elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as Sungkyunkwan University Natural Science Campus. The surrounding area is rich in green spaces such as Ilwol Arboretum, Yeogisan Park, and Chukmanje Reservoir. Major railway networks like Hwaseo Station and Suwon Station (Line 1 and Suin-Bundang Line) are also nearby. In the future, with the opening of Guun Station on the Shinbundang Line and the GTX-C line, accessibility to Seoul is expected to improve significantly.
A Lotte Construction official said, "Together with Hyundai Construction, we proposed a specialized design incorporating the construction know-how we have accumulated so far," adding, "Both companies will do their best based on perfect teamwork to create the largest landmark complex in Suwon."
