Police: Suspect in Baek Hyeryun's 'Egg Throwing Incident' Not Identified

The police announced on the 31st that they have not yet identified the suspect who threw a raw egg at Baek Hye-ryun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea.

A police official said at a regular press briefing that day, "We are conducting an investigation including CCTV analysis and witness statements."

Earlier, on the 20th, Baek was hit by a raw egg thrown from the opposite sidewalk during a press conference urging the swift dismissal of President Yoon Seok-yeol. Supporters of President Yoon holding Taegeukgi and the U.S. flag were present on the sidewalk. The police did not secure the suspect's custody at the scene.

At the time, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced through a media notice, "Considering the seriousness of the matter, we have formed a dedicated investigation team led by the head of the Criminal Division of Jongno Police Station and started an investigation," adding, "We plan to conduct a swift and strict investigation including video material analysis and tracking of the thrower."
