Donations from Local Businesses Including Ymart and Shinsegae Emart
Seo-gu District in Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 31st that it has delivered relief supplies gathered from the local community and 5.18 Jumokbap to residents of Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, who are suffering from wildfire damage.

On this day, Seo-gu loaded emergency relief supplies such as bottled water, cup noodles, and daily necessities onto a 5.7-ton truck and departed for Yeongdeok.
Local businesses such as Mulmaru, Ymart, Shinsegae Emart, and Darda Gimbap voluntarily donated relief goods. In addition, "Yangdong Janggeumi," a group consisting of Seo-gu District Mayor Kim Ikang and merchants from Yangdong Traditional Market, prepared 500 servings of "5.18 Jumokbap," a symbol of sharing and solidarity, and sent them to the affected area that morning.
Seo-gu is collecting donations from all employees to support wildfire-affected areas, and the Seo-gu Honors Club, a high-value donor club for the realization of the Good City Seo-gu, also plans to collect and deliver special donations.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "Too many people have been sacrificed and countless victims have been affected by the large-scale wildfire. This is a time when nationwide solidarity is needed," and added, "I hope the spirit of sharing and solidarity from the good citizens of Seo-gu will bring some comfort and strength to those who have lost their homes."
Meanwhile, in response to the national wildfire disaster crisis alert at the "serious" level, Seo-gu is maintaining an emergency work system for all staff, strengthening patrols in wildfire-prone areas, and focusing on wildfire prevention activities.
