Hyundai Glovis announced on the 31st that on the 26th, it agreed to cooperate with Socar at its Seongsu-dong headquarters in Seoul to "grow the used car platform and streamline delivery services." Key officials from both companies attended the event, including Ki Jeongseong, Executive Director of Hyundai Glovis Distribution Business Division, and Namgung Ho, Chief Brand Officer (CBO) of Socar.
Autobell's contactless car selling service is characterized by professional appraisal consultants visiting customers at their desired time and place to evaluate and purchase vehicles directly. When customers upload photos of their vehicles, a depreciation-free estimate is generated based on big data from transactions. If the customer requests a sale, the process is completed on-site with vehicle pickup and payment deposit in a one-stop manner.
Through this cooperation, Hyundai Glovis plans to utilize Socar's delivery platform 'Handler' to expand the service coverage to areas with low accessibility such as small provincial cities and island/mountainous regions. Handler, which is responsible for moving 25,000 Socar car-sharing vehicles nationwide, visits customers at their desired locations to inspect vehicle conditions and safely deliver the cars.
After completing preliminary tests in island and mountainous regions such as Jeonnam and Gangwon, the two companies expanded the service to Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, and Jeonbuk regions starting from the 18th. They aim to operate nationwide services including Incheon and Gyeonggi by the first half of the year.
A Hyundai Glovis official said, "Autobell and Handler will create synergy to set a new standard for used car trading," adding, "We will achieve consumer-centered innovation through digitalization of used car transactions and improvement of service quality."
