Com2uS invests in Offbeat... to handle publishing of 'Jeondoksi IP'

Com2uS announced on the 31st that it will make a strategic investment in the game developer Offbeat. It also signed a global publishing contract for the intellectual property (IP) game "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" developed by Offbeat.

"Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" is a Korean-style modern fantasy genre work about an ordinary office worker named "Kim Dokja," who usually enjoys apocalypse novels and struggles to survive in a world where the story from the novel he was reading unfolds in reality. The web novel has accumulated over 200 million views, and the webtoon of the same name has recorded over 2 billion cumulative views worldwide through webtoon serialization and volume publication since its launch on Naver Webtoon in 2020. Last year, it signed a contract with a famous Japanese animation production and distribution company. In July, it will be released as a blockbuster movie starring Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Min-ho, and Jisoo (BLACKPINK).

Offbeat is a game developer founded in May last year by CEO Moon Sung-bin, a renowned developer who led Netmarble Blue. CEO Moon led the growth of the mobile game market by developing titles such as "Magumagu 2013" and "Dungeon All Together" at Netmarble, and after the merger with Netmarble N2, he served as the head of development for "Tower of God: New World." The game based on the Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint IP is Offbeat's first project since its establishment.

Com2uS has built a strategic partnership through its investment in Offbeat and secured the publishing rights for the Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint IP-based game, planning to service it in domestic and global markets.
