[Tomorrow's Weather] Nationwide Subzero Temperatures on Commute... Dry Air 'Fire Caution'

On Monday morning, the 31st, most regions nationwide will be quite cold with temperatures below freezing.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 30th, cold air is moving southward from the northwest, causing temperatures to be 3 to 6 degrees lower than average until the 31st.

The lowest temperature on the morning of the 31st is expected to be between -5°C and 3°C, and the highest temperature during the day will be between 11°C and 16°C. In particular, inland areas will experience a temperature difference of more than 15 degrees between day and night.

Temperatures will return to average levels starting from the daytime of Tuesday, the 1st of next month.

The lowest temperature on the morning of the 1st of next month is forecasted to be between -1°C and 6°C, and the highest temperature during the day will be between 13°C and 18°C.

On the 31st, the sky will be partly cloudy nationwide, and on the 1st of next month, it will be mostly clear.

From dawn to morning on the 31st, fog with visibility less than 1 km is expected mainly in inland areas of Gyeonggi, Gangwon inland and mountainous regions, inland Chungcheong, and inland Jeolla.

Since fog on the ground may freeze, causing icy roads or black ice, drivers should reduce speed when operating vehicles.

Dry weather warnings are in effect for the Seoul metropolitan area, the east coast of Gangwon, southern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, eastern Jeolla, and Gyeongsang regions, where the air will remain very dry for the time being.

Strong winds will also blow, so small sparks can spread into large fires. Therefore, entering mountains should be avoided, and the use of fire during outdoor activities is prohibited to prevent forest fires and various other fires.

Until this day, strong winds with gusts around 55 km/h (15 m/s) are expected in most regions nationwide.

In the outer seas south of Jeju and the outer seas east of the South Sea, winds will blow very strongly at 30 to 60 km/h (9 to 16 m/s) until the evening, and waves will be very high at 1.5 to 3.5 meters. Ships navigating and fishing in these areas should exercise caution.
