Lee Jae-myung: "Constitutional Court Must Quickly Decide on Yoon's Impeachment to Minimize Government Chaos"

"Mistrust Toward the Constitutional Court Grows as Ruling Is Delayed"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged the Constitutional Court on the 30th to deliver a ruling on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol.

On the same day, Lee stated on social media (SNS), "As the final ruling on the president's impeachment is delayed, public anxiety is increasing, and regrettably, voices of distrust toward the Constitutional Court, the ultimate guardian of the constitutional order of the Republic of Korea, are also growing."

Lee wrote, "It may seem as if the people, tired of waiting, are pressuring the Constitutional Court, but if you look closely, isn’t it rather an expression of firm expectation and hope that the most trusted constitutional institution will become the last bastion of democracy?"

He added, "There must be reasons for the significant delay from the conclusion of the arguments to the final ruling, but since the public does not know those reasons, it is only natural for them to feel anxious and suspicious. I once again urge a swift and wise decision for all the people."
