LG Electronics and KIPO Jointly Develop Ideas to Improve Accessibility of Home Appliances for People with Disabilities

LG Electronics announced on the 30th that it has signed a 'Business Agreement to Enhance Accessibility for Disabled People in Home Appliances' with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).


Through this agreement, LG Electronics will utilize 'Idea-ro,' an idea trading platform operated by the Korea Invention Promotion Association under KIPO, to discover ideas for improving accessibility of home appliances and cooperate to raise social awareness about accessibility for disabled people.


As part of the agreement, LG Electronics, KIPO, and the Korea Invention Promotion Association will hold an idea contest focused on accessibility in home appliance use for disabled people. Ideas selected through the contest will be reviewed for application to actual products and services after purchase. Applications will be accepted on 'Idea-ro' until the 28th of next month.

LG Electronics plans to support the participation of its home appliance accessibility improvement community, 'Bold Move,' in the idea concretization process to reflect the real voices of disabled people.


Cho Hwijae, Vice President and Head of LG Electronics IP Center, stated, "Together with KIPO, we will discover new ideas for home appliance accessibility and develop them into products and services that anyone can use conveniently, maximizing customer value."
