Natural Language Recognition-Based Control... Understanding Conversation Context
Enhanced App Integration Features... Expanding Scalability Through 'ThinQ Play'
Controlling Existing Appliances Like AI Devices... Synergy with the AtHome Platform
LG Electronics has launched the AI home hub device 'ThinQ On,' targeting the AI home market.
According to industry sources, LG Electronics first supplied ThinQ On to business-to-business (B2B) customers in March. Sales to general consumers are planned to be fully launched through online malls and other channels in the first half of this year.
ThinQ On is an AI home hub that LG Electronics unveiled last September at 'IFA 2024' held in Berlin, Germany.
It optimally connects and controls home appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and based on generative AI technology, it naturally converses with users and understands context. For example, simply saying "It feels a bit hot inside. Please adjust the air conditioner temperature" enables appropriate temperature control.
Along with supplying ThinQ On, LG Electronics will establish a 'ThinQ Play' page within the 'LG ThinQ' application. Through this page, customers can receive recommendations and install various apps that are compatible with ThinQ On.
Additionally, ThinQ On integrates lifestyle convenience services such as music streaming and routine management, including the IoT ecosystem of the smart home platform 'AtHome,' which LG Electronics acquired last year. By combining with separate IoT device sensors, it will support using existing appliances without AI functions as AI appliances.
