This meeting was organized to prevent safety accidents such as cracks and collapses that may occur as the frozen ground thaws during the thawing season. Attendees included Mayor Kang, related senior officials, and 16 site managers from major large-scale projects such as apartment complexes and logistics warehouses in the area.
The meeting covered various agendas, including inspections by risk factors, safety rule education at construction sites, measures to involve local construction companies amid prolonged real estate stagnation, site management for building high-quality apartment complexes, and listening to difficulties faced at each site.
On the day, Mayor Kang personally toured the construction site of the new apartment complex in the Hoecheon district, thoroughly inspecting various potential safety hazards and continuing the 'communication administration' by attentively listening to the concerns of site personnel.
He also presented the prevention of safety accidents as the most important task for constructing high-quality apartment complexes and requested the utmost effort in site management and quality improvement to minimize citizens' inconvenience caused by noise, dust, and vibration, and to create a safe working environment.
In the subsequent discussion on revitalizing the local economy, the importance of realizing corporate social responsibility for mutual growth was emphasized, including the priority hiring of local workers and the use of local goods and companies.
Along with this, he urged close cooperation to establish a 'community asset cooperation system' where production, activities, investment, research, and employment based in the region circulate in a virtuous cycle, enabling Yangju to achieve sustainable development.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “This meeting is an important occasion to prevent similar accidents such as recent repeated fires and safety incidents and to create a safe working environment,” adding, “We will continue to communicate with the field to revitalize the local construction industry and recover the local economy, doing our best to achieve mutual development.”
