Wang Yi, Director of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (also serving as Foreign Minister), is scheduled to visit Russia next week to discuss current issues including the Ukraine war, according to major foreign media such as AFP and Sputnik News on the 28th.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "At the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Director Wang will visit Russia from the 31st of this month to the 2nd of next month."
The Russian Foreign Ministry also announced in a statement, "Director Wang and Minister Lavrov are scheduled to hold talks in Moscow on the 1st of next month."
It added, "The two ministers will discuss topics related to bilateral relations, including the highest-level and high-level contacts, as well as the most urgent international agenda issues, including prospects for resolving the Ukraine crisis."
Analysts interpret the mentioned 'highest-level contacts' as referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Russia.
