On the 28th, the Korea Forest Service Central Accident Response Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as CARH) officially announced that the main fires in the Gyeongbuk regions of Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, and Yeongyang were extinguished around 5 p.m. that day.
This came about 149 hours after the initial wildfire broke out around 11:25 a.m. on the 22nd in Anpyeong-myeon, Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk.
CARH and Gyeongbuk Province urged, "Due to the dry spring weather and strong winds, even a small spark can quickly spread into a large wildfire if neglected, so thorough management of fire sources is essential," and emphasized, "Those responsible for causing wildfires due to minor negligence may face imprisonment of up to three years or a fine of up to 30 million won."
