Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 28th that it held the "2025 1st Social Workers' Treatment Improvement Committee Meeting" on the 26th at the city hall's medium conference room.

This meeting was held to improve the working conditions of social welfare workers and to establish effective support policies. The city is striving to enhance the quality of welfare services through policy design and system improvements that reflect the voices from the field.


The meeting was attended by a total of 10 people, including Chairman Lee Byung-taek, Director of the Welfare Bureau, representatives of social welfare organizations, workers, and professors of social welfare departments, discussing ▲ the direction of committee operations ▲ improvement measures for the child care leave system ▲ and the amendment of the "Ordinance on the Treatment and Status Improvement of Social Workers in Uijeongbu City."


Uijeongbu City plans to appoint new committee members following the expiration of the current members' terms in July, aiming to further strengthen the professionalism and representativeness of the committee for substantial operation.


Director Lee Byung-taek of the Welfare Bureau stated, "We will establish an institutional foundation so that social welfare workers can work with pride in a stable environment," and added, "We will continue to reflect the voices from the field in policies and strive for effective treatment improvements."
