Hygiene Management Grade Evaluation
Targeting 112 Food Manufacturing and Processing Businesses
and 3 Food Additive Manufacturing Businesses from April to November
Gyeonggi Hanam City (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced that from April to November, it will conduct a 'Hygiene Management Grade Evaluation' targeting 112 food manufacturing and processing businesses and 3 food additive manufacturing businesses.
The hygiene management grade evaluation is a system designed to efficiently manage food hygiene and enhance the autonomous hygiene management level of businesses by assessing the hygiene and quality management capabilities of food manufacturing and processing businesses and food additive manufacturing businesses.
This evaluation is divided into a 'new evaluation' for businesses that have been registered for more than one year and a 'regular evaluation' for businesses that have passed two years since their new evaluation. The evaluation team, consisting of one public official and two consumer food hygiene inspectors (a total of three members), will conduct on-site visits to carry out the evaluation.
The evaluation items include ▲Basic survey evaluation (business status, scale, production capacity, etc.) ▲Compliance with food hygiene laws (document evaluation, environment and facility evaluation) ▲Excellent management evaluation (facilities and hygiene management exceeding food hygiene law standards), totaling 120 items.
The evaluation results are divided into three grades. 'Autonomous Management Business' refers to businesses with excellent hygiene management, which are exempt from inspections and visits for two years unless there are special reasons. 'General Management Business' meets hygiene standards, and 'Focused Management Business' refers to businesses lacking in facilities or hygiene management, which are intensively managed at least once a year.
Jung Tae-hyun, Director of the Food Hygiene Agriculture Division, said, "Through this evaluation, we will do our best to create safe food and hygienic manufacturing environments that citizens can consume with confidence."
