The prosecution has decided to defer prosecution for Mr. A, a reporter from the Hankyoreh newspaper who reported on President Yoon Seok-yeol's alleged delayed arrival at work.

Prosecutors Give 'Suspended Prosecution' to Reporter Who Reported on Yoon's Late Arrival Allegation On the 15th, when the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency and the Police Emergency Martial Law Special Investigation Unit moved to execute an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol, a vehicle presumed to be carrying President Yoon was leaving the main gate of the presidential residence in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office stated on the 28th that although Mr. A was found guilty of trespassing on the rooftop of a commercial building near the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, they took into account that the building owner did not wish to press charges.

Deferred prosecution means that while the charges are acknowledged, the case will not be brought to trial considering various circumstances.

Earlier, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul reported the case to the prosecution, concluding that Mr. A's act of asking the building security guard about a specific store and then heading to the rooftop constituted trespassing.
