Game Developer Conference to Be Held on April 3
From Industry Trends to Development Know-how
Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (President Kim Taeyeol) will co-host the 'Busan Game Developer Conference: Game Dev Insight Lounge' with Smilegate Orange Planet Startup Foundation on April 3 at 3 PM at the Busan Culture Contents Complex in Haeundae-gu.
This conference is a regular program of the Busan Global Game Center, jointly operated by the Promotion Agency and Orange Planet, designed to strengthen the capabilities of local game developers and build their networks.
The event will begin with the BIC Organizing Committee presenting the '2025 BIC Business Briefing,' followed by lectures from industry experts, including 'Console Market Entry Strategies' by CFK, 'PC Game Growth Know-how' by XL Games, and '2025 Game Industry Trends' by Smilegate. After the lectures, there will also be demo sessions and networking events for game development studios, providing a platform to share indie game ideas and business strategies.
Participation is open to developers, aspiring developers, student teams in the Busan area, and anyone interested in game development. Pre-registration is available through the notice section on the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency website, and the deadline is 6 PM on March 31.
Kim Taeyeol, President of the Promotion Agency, said, "We hope this will be a venue for developers to share experiences and collaborate," and added, "We will continue to support the establishment of a foundation for the growth of the local game industry."
Seo Sangbong, Director of Orange Planet, stated, "We have been steadily enhancing the capabilities of Busan game developers through regular conferences," and added, "We hope this event will become a sustainable platform for sharing development know-how, leading to the birth of global game companies in Busan."
The Promotion Agency operates the Busan Global Game Center with support from Busan Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korea Creative Content Agency, and is actively pursuing various projects to foster the game industry ecosystem, including business support incubating, game content production, and commercialization support.
