The Gender Ratio Shows 13% Male and 87% Female
Funding platform Tumblbug, operated by Backpacker, announced on the 28th that the first official merchandise funding for the animation 'Toemalok,' which opened on the 26th, surpassed a cumulative funding amount of 467 million KRW within just one day of its release.
'Toemalok' is based on the bestseller 'Toemalok,' which has sold over 10 million copies, and depicts the beginning of an epic story where exorcists with special abilities confront absolute evil.

According to Tumblbug, the Toemalok merchandise funding received applications from over 4,200 people within one day of the pre-order period, making it the project with the highest number of pre-notification applicants in Tumblbug's history. Considering that about a month remains until the end of the funding period, Tumblbug explained that the final cumulative funding amount is expected to set a record in the animation merchandise category.
So far, more than 4,200 people have participated in the Toemalok funding, with women and men accounting for 87% and 13%, respectively. By age group, people in their 20s made up the largest portion at 46%, followed by those in their 30s (38%) and those aged 40 and above (10%).
Kim Donghwan, CEO of Backpacker, stated, "We will continue to expand support for creators in various fields such as movies, webtoons, and games so that domestic content can establish itself as a global cultural icon."
