Public officials from Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, have voluntarily stepped forward to help with the recovery from wildfire damage in Gyeongsangbuk-do. A donation of 10 million won, collected by gathering the "change" from their monthly salaries, will be used to support the disaster victims.

On the 28th, Gwangsan-gu announced, "Public officials from our district have voluntarily collected donations of either 10,000 won or amounts less than 1,000 won from their monthly salaries, totaling 10 million won, and delivered them to the Community Chest of Korea." The donation will be used for recovery efforts and support for victims in the wildfire-affected areas of Gyeongbuk.

Gwangsan-gu also plans to continue additional fundraising in cooperation with the Community Chest of Korea to support wildfire recovery. The local community is also joining in. The Suwan-dong Community Security Council will deliver a donation of 1 million won to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association on the 31st.

The public officials who participated in the donation said, "It may be a small gesture, but we hope it will be a source of strength for the residents affected by the disaster and those working hard to extinguish the wildfires. We will continue to stand in solidarity so that everyone can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
