Blueprint for Fostering the Coffee Industry Presented
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 28th that on the 27th, it signed a business agreement with Korea McNulty Co., Ltd., a KOSDAQ-listed company leading the domestic coffee industry, at the Open Mayor's Office in Goyang City Hall to revitalize the coffee industry.

The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, Lee Eun-jung, General CEO of Korea McNulty Co., Ltd., and Jeon Seon-jun, CEO, who discussed cooperation plans.
The main contents of this agreement include ▲ fostering and revitalizing the coffee industry in Goyang Special City ▲ building coffee industry infrastructure ▲ cooperating to promote the designation of Goyang Special City as an economic free zone ▲ collaboration on coffee-related technology and networks of Korea McNulty Co., Ltd.
Currently, the city is carrying out various projects to realize a self-sufficient city through job creation and to promote the designation of an economic free zone. Accordingly, through cooperation with Korea McNulty Co., Ltd., which is expanding beyond the domestic market into the global market, the city plans to strategically foster the coffee industry to revitalize the local economy.
Korea McNulty Co., Ltd., established in 1997, is a leading domestic coffee company and was listed on KOSDAQ in 2015. It has grown into a comprehensive health and food and beverage company that produces and processes coffee beans as well as health functional foods and pharmaceuticals. In 2013, it acquired the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification in all areas of coffee, and in 2016, it was selected as No. 1 in the roasted coffee category of the ‘Korea Consumer Satisfaction Index’ chosen by consumers.
Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, stated, “We will continuously strive to make Goyang City a ‘coffee city’ and a global self-sufficient city by making the coffee industry a new growth engine.”
Lee Eun-jung, General CEO of Korea McNulty Co., Ltd., said, “We are pleased to join Goyang City’s vision for fostering the coffee industry,” adding, “Based on our own research facilities, experience operating a central research institute, and domestic and international patented technologies, we will actively cooperate to help Goyang City develop into a hub of the coffee industry.”
Meanwhile, Goyang Special City recently established a basic plan for fostering the coffee industry under the vision of ‘1 million population, 1,000 kinds of coffee.’ Accordingly, various projects such as ▲ operating the Goyang Roastery Pop-up Center ▲ building a coffee research support center ▲ operating a circular economy project utilizing coffee grounds ▲ creating a coffee industrial complex within the economic free zone are planned.
