Strengthening Local Economy and Disaster Prevention
Enhancing Response Systems
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, is accelerating efforts to revitalize the local economy and ensure urban safety.
On the 27th, Jungnang-gu held its March Policy Sympathy Meeting under the theme of ‘Promoting Livelihood Economy Revitalization and Urban Safety Measures.’
At this meeting, support measures for small business owners and startup, small, and venture companies struggling due to the domestic economic downturn, plans to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts, and checks on response systems for disaster and safety accident prevention were discussed.
To revitalize the local economy, the district plans to expand the issuance scale of the ‘Jungnang Love Gift Certificates’ and ‘Seoul Delivery+ (Ttaenggeoyo)’ from 20.3 billion won last year to 22.8 billion won this year, and increase small business loan support from 148.6 billion won this year to 195 billion won next year.
Additionally, through the operation of the Jungnang Co-Startup Fund, the district will support funding for startup companies, and strengthen customized startup consulting and resident company support through the Jungnang Startup Support Center to enhance the self-sustainability of the local economy.
Efforts to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts will also be intensified. Customized support projects and commercial district revitalization festivals will be promoted for each commercial area, and the competitiveness of small business owners will be strengthened through local brand development projects. Support will also be provided for merchant education and council operations in traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts to enhance the self-sustainability of commercial areas.
Furthermore, the district will inspect major facilities and vulnerable areas within the region and strengthen response systems to prevent disasters and safety accidents. A response system has been established to enable swift action in the event of major disasters such as fires. In case of emergencies, systems for ▲disaster text message transmission ▲operation of a disaster response mobile situation room ▲operation of on-site emergency medical stations have been checked and established for prompt action.
Along with this, to prevent forest fires, a Forest Fire Prevention Countermeasures Headquarters is being operated, and safety inspections of steep slopes and barrier-free forest trails are being conducted, with plans to strengthen the management of park and green space facilities.
Regular inspections and safety education are conducted for 107 gas and oil facilities, and thorough accident prevention is ensured through regular and detailed safety inspections of construction sites and road facilities. Inspections of sewage and disaster prevention facilities are being strengthened to proactively prepare for floods and various disasters.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “Through this Policy Sympathy Meeting, we discussed practical measures to revitalize the local economy and strengthen urban safety,” adding, “In these times when economic crises and various disasters and accidents are major issues, we will continue thorough preparations and active support so that residents can live with peace of mind.”
