Bogyeongsa Temple: Safety Measures Checked and Request for Cultural Heritage Protection

On this day, Mayor Lee visited the temporary evacuation facility set up at the Songra-myeon Community Welfare Center, inspected the facility, and urged officials to proactively evacuate village residents at the first sign of wildfire risk.
Mayor Lee then visited Bogyeongsa Temple, located in Songra-myeon, to inspect the temple's safety measures for wildfire prevention and requested thorough protection to ensure that cultural heritage is not damaged.

At Bogyeongsa Temple, two fire trucks have been deployed in cooperation with relevant agencies to prepare for emergencies. In addition, protective measures such as covering immovable cultural assets with fire-retardant sheets are planned, and preparations are being made to relocate movable cultural assets in advance.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "We are maintaining a high level of alert and preparing for all possible situations until the wildfire situation in nearby areas is fully resolved," and added, "We will make every effort to protect the precious lives and property of our citizens."
After inspecting the Songra-myeon area, Mayor Lee Kangdeok continued to patrol the wildfire boundary areas of Yeongdeok-gun and Cheongsong-gun, which border Pohang, by vehicle to monitor the on-site situation.
