The visit, arranged at the invitation of Siheung City, included five finance and education experts, including Dean Zhao Jie of the Graduate School of Finance and officials from the International Exchange Office.
The delegation toured the Turtle Island area in Siheung and visited Seoul National University Siheung Campus to receive detailed explanations about major development plans.
At the subsequent meeting held at the City Hall Global Center, they shared the role of the Siheung Industrial Promotion Agency and the status of local companies, and discussed ▲ cooperation in economic, financial, and technological convergence research ▲ exchange and attraction of outstanding talent, among other topics.
Dean Zhao Jie said, "Siheung, which possesses a solid innovation ecosystem where advanced industries and finance can combine, offers the optimal environment for corporate growth and global network expansion. I hope this visit will be a meaningful starting point for cooperation."
Siheung Mayor Lim Byung-taek responded, "I hope to achieve tangible results in various fields such as research, education, and industry through cooperation with the Graduate School of Finance at Tsinghua University."
Earlier, the Siheung City delegation visited Tsinghua University upon the school's invitation during their visit to Dezhou City, China, a sister city, in November last year. At that time, both institutions benchmarked successful industry-academia cooperation models and the modeling of Seoul National University Siheung Campus, and discussed the potential for developing industry-academia cooperation infrastructure.
