Hanwoo Association Raises Relief Funds for 'Hanwoo Farmers Affected by Wildfires' Damage Recovery

The Korea Hanwoo Association announced on the 27th that it will conduct a fundraising campaign to aid the recovery of Hanwoo farms in areas declared special disaster zones due to large-scale wildfires in Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Ulsan, and Jeonbuk.

At the board meeting held the previous day, the Hanwoo Association resolved to immediately initiate fundraising to support Hanwoo farms that have lost their livelihoods and are facing difficulties due to the wildfires. Accordingly, fundraising for goods such as rice straw and forage, as well as monetary donations, will be conducted until the 15th of next month.

A representative of the Hanwoo Association stated, "Hanwoo farms in the wildfire-affected areas are fighting fiercely against the fires by opening their barns to evacuate the cattle. However, damages are mounting as not only barns but also houses are being completely destroyed by the flames."

Along with the fundraising efforts for Hanwoo farm recovery, the Hanwoo Association is prioritizing practical support for evacuees in the wildfire-affected regions. They plan to allocate the Hanwoo mutual aid fund budget to provide easy-to-eat meals such as Hanwoo beef soup and other essential daily necessities at shelters.

Min Kyung-cheon, president of the Hanwoo Association, said, "We plan to quickly deliver the collected donations by gathering warm-hearted support from many people to ensure the swift recovery and stabilization of the livelihoods of Hanwoo farms in the wildfire-affected areas."
